1. Grob Astir Standard III: Joe and Ralph are traveling to Tampa to pick up the new single place next week. The glider should be ready for operations by next weekend. The use of the glider is open to all members in good standing who have a Private Certificate or better, and Student Pilots at the discretion of their instructor.

Cost to fly the Grob is the same as the Blanik’s. $10 for first 1/2 hour and $20 for any longer. If you fly 31 minutes, $20. If you fly 2 hr 30 min, $20.

Because the Grob has a retractable main wheel, please make your pattern entry call as follows: “Grob glider overhead for Runway 18 gear down and locked”.

The Board will update the SOP to reflect these changes. Enjoy the new sailplane.

2. To ease the burden on Roger doing the accounting and to compensate Operational Safety Officers, we are instituting the following. Beginning this weekend, the OSO will be compensated the same as the tow pilot. One free tow for every ten launches worked. A card file will be on the desk in the hangar. At the end of the day, record the number of launches and have another club member verify the entry. When your card has ten launches recorded, you get a free tow. When you fly, place the card in the money pouch in lieu of cash for the tow.

3. Maintenance Time: One of the nice things we have in the club is compensation for effort above normal club duties. If you fix a brake, install an electrical system, or do something that is not in the normal course of keeping the club running, log your time in the back of the daily log and you will be compensated. Things like upkeep on the golf carts, lawn mowing, hangar sweeping, etc. should not be claimed.

4. Remember to keep family and children in the immediate area of the hangar or porch unless under the direct supervision of a club member.

I look forward to a good late fall/early winter season.

Keep your ideas and comments coming.
